The 2017 Conference will be held in Adelaide 19th – 20th October 2017 Mercure Grosvenor Hotel
Inequality is both the source of difficulties that bring people to therapy and a major impediment to effective service delivery.
Beyond the inequality between client and therapist are those of the wider system including the client and agency, therapist and agency, agency and agency, and policy and society. All act to further disempower the client and create major constraints to effective service delivery.
In this exciting conference we will explore where family therapy and systemic practice can work effectively at every level of system, from constraints imposed by the wider socio-political world to those in therapeutic practice.
In addition to the therapy process we will address four main themes, and one general theme, in areas greatly impacted by inequality:
- Indigenous Australians
- Health and Disability
- Other Vulnerable Groups
